OLservatious of the Coiiiet (T. 1850), made a t the Royal Ol~servatory, Calw ot Good Hope, between Sept. 6 and Oct. 15, 1850. By Z'homns Maclenr, Esq. 011 the 6th of October the comet resrnibletl a nearly circular nebula of about 5' in dianieter, with a considerable degree of tliKused Iiriglitness in .the centre. As the oli.ject Iiecanie faiut the dimensions increased, still retaining the circular shape ; and ori the 15th of October, whcri it was Isst seen, there was no increase of opacity towards the centre, nor anything to guide the judgement iii the nimsurenients other than the general form. The sky \vas covered oii the 16th arid 17th of October; al'terwartls the comet could Itot hc detccted.
