✦ Synopsis

A phase plane invariant of the Lorenz and other systems, undergoing chaos, has been presented. Numerical experiments show that this invariant is independent of the initial conditions and depends on the structure and parameters of the chaotic systems. There are some potential applications of this result to the issues of system identification, reconstruction of the chaotic systems and chaotic cryptography.
