โฆ Synopsis
In .X 1200 of the Astr. Nachr. Dr. Aumers has published corrected elements for I859 Juli 18,O derived from the first six oppositions. A comparison of our results gives This close agreement is of some interest, since we have used different methods for t h e computation of the perturbations. The error of Dr. Aumers' ephemeris for 1860, namely h a = -3'28, is not justified by A.-S.; therefore only a constant error in the computation of the ephemeris i s probable. Observations of Encke's Comet, of the Comet 111. 1861 (Tzcttle's); of the Asteroids Elpis, Callypso, Echo and Euphrosyne, made with the Equatorial of the U. S. Naval Observatory, by James Ferguson. I n these observations A a and A d are the values measured by the instrument, refraction and parallax. a and 8 are the results corrected for E n ch e ' s C o in e t.
