โœฆ Synopsis

A summary of measurements of cosmic radiation on February 23rd, 1956, performed in Bergen, Norway, is presented. Altogether 7 different components were studied. During the first 16 minutes of the event (03.44-04.00 GMT) the soft and hard intensities lay 350% and 89%, respectively, above their normal values. Our data indicate that the extra radiation from the sun had a greater share of particles with high energies during the peak of the event than later on.

On 23 May 1967 energetic (10-50 kcV) solar flare X-rays were observed by the OGO-III ion chamber during the period 1808-2100 UT.
