✦ Synopsis

Experimental data on the dependence of the thermal-acoustic oscillation frequency upon the height of a liquid column in tubes dipped into nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and hydrogen are presented. The conditions under which these oscillations occur have been found and the oscillation amplitudes have been measured. Attempts were made to observe thermal-acoustic oscillations with a gas column of nitrogen and oxygen with the help of sensitive equipment.
