✦ Synopsis
The CO fourth positive system obtained by dissociative recombination of CO; (% 'IIs) ions has been observed under various conditions of CO: vlbrational excitation. It is shown that the CO(A'II) vibrational distribution is directly linked to CO: excitation. Implications for planetary airglows are discussed.
