Stokes and anti-Stokes picosecond generation in potential laser-host YbVO 4 single crystal has been observed for the first time. All measured stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) wavelengths in the visible and near-IR are identified and attributed to the SRS-promoting vibration mode of this tetragonal vanadate.
