Raman spectra of aqueous solutions of = 0.5 and GZ 0.05 M calcium nitrate recorded in their glassy states at 90 K are reported and compared with those recorded at 295 K. Evidence for increasing contact-ion pairing in the glassy state is based on increasing intensity of a band in the uq band region a

β¦ Synopsis
Raman OH stretching spectra were measured for glassy pure ethanol and LiCl,RCB,OH solutions (R = moles of C*H,OH over moles of LiCl) . Resolved Raman peaks at = 3309 and ir 3373 cm-' grow with an increase in LiCl concentration. The ~3309 cm-' band is tentatively assigned to the OH stretching vibrations of ethanol molecules in the second salvation spheres around chloride ions and the w 3373 cm-l band to the OH stretching vibrations of the OH groups directly hydrogen bonded to chloride
