✦ Synopsis
Large single crystals of the compound LaBO~2~MoO~4~, undoped and doped with Nd^3+^ ions, were grown. Their multi-wavelength Stokes and anti-Stokes picosecond generation, nonlinear-laser effects, and neodymium IR luminescence were investigated. We classify these crystals as a promising material for Raman frequency converters and gain medium for solid-state lasers.
