✦ Synopsis

This paper presents experimental realization of dependence on initial conditions in the nonlinear response of a twodegree-of-freedom (two DOF) nonlinear system, by employing a nonlinear beam-mass mechanicaI structure. The experimental data show that the structure exhibits different dynamic behavior under different initial conditions.
