โฆ Synopsis
In this paper, Helmholtz's free streamline theory is used to determine the contraction coefficients of two jets formed by a finite, two-dimensional stream impinging obliquely upon a plane lamina placed between two infinite parallel planes.
The agreement between the results obtained from experiments and those calculated from theory is excellent.
Thus, the theory is expected to be useful as a design tool for such boundary configurations as those represented by butterfly valves.
