Lubos' Vyhna ´nek was born in Prague on the 30 November 1928 into the family of a Czechoslovak army colonel in the medical services, specializing in pulmonary tuberculosis. This no doubt influenced his choice of university studies in the Medical Faculty of Charles University (1947)(1948)(1949)(1950)(1951)(1952), and perhaps even his specialization in radiology.
He started his professional career in the Radiological Department of the County Hospital at U ´stı ´nad Labem in 1953. In 1956
