✦ Synopsis


at the age of 71. Wenk received his doctoral degree from New York Medical College in 1972. As a student, he was co-founder of the Graduate Student Association. Later as a faculty member, he guided thousands of student through the course in gross anatomy. Gene Wenk had been an integral member of the university community for over 30 years. During the last few years, he devoted his energy to developing a series of courses designed to focus on the specific needs of various surgical subspecialties. In addition, he collaborated and consulted on clinical anatomy research projects with residents, fellows, and faculty in several clinical disciplines. These projects have in some cases been instrumental in the development of novel surgical procedures.

Dr. Wenk was predeceased by his wife Betty and daughter Marsha and survived by two daughters, Karen and Laura. He is dearly missed by his many colleagues and friends.
