✦ Synopsis
for transplants are lymphomas, leukemias, multiple myeloma and solid malignancies. Children transplant center reports lower allogeneic than autologous peritransplant mortality (9.5% vs 12%), better overall survival allo vs autoSCT (67.63% vs 21.3%). Survival of children is significantly better with allogeneic SCT performed for non-malignant diseases vs malignancies (89.7% vs 52.6%).
Conclusion:
The increasing number of SCT performed in Slovakia is likely due to advances in supportive care, reduced intensity conditioning regimens and increased availability of unrelated donors through large registries.
