The burying beetle, Nicrophorus orbicollis, is the first beetle exhibiting parental care for which endocrinological studies have been initiated. Burying beetles bury and prepare small vertebrate carcasses as a breeding resource for their offspring. After emergence as an adult, hemolymph titers of ju
