โœฆ Synopsis

Background and Objective: The current trend among patients seeking rejuvenating procedures is for less-invasive procedures. Patients frequently reject surgical lifting procedures because of the associated prolonged recovery time. Multiple minimally invasive techniques for tightening of the aging neck have been described including the neck suspension and neck liposuction. We examined a series of patients treated with a combination of minimally invasive therapies, termed the Lipo-Therma Lift, for rejuvenation and tightening of the neck. Study Design/Materials and Methods: A retrospective comparison was performed between patients undergoing the combined Lipo-Therma Lift versus those receiving liposuction alone. Sixteen consecutive patients undergoing neck liposuction were analyzed. Eight patients each were treated with neck liposuction alone or the combination Lipo-Therma Lift consisting of liposuction with concomitant multiple pass radiofrequency tightening (Therma-Cool 1 ). A comparative analysis between the two modalities was performed by quantitative assessment of the mean percentage change in the cervicomental angle between patients in each treatment group at a long term follow up visit. Results: All patients demonstrated rapid recovery without complications and a high patient satisfaction rating. Analysis of pre and postoperative photographs demonstrated superior improvement in the cervicomental angle with the Lipo-Therma Lift compared to liposuction alone.

Conclusion:

The combined Lipo-Therma Lift provides an excellent modality for minimally invasive rejuvenation of the aging neck.
