✦ Synopsis
The pulse energy and timing stability in high-speed soliton buffers with consideration of amplifier ASE noise, Raman self-frequency shift, and third-order dispersion are studied numerically. It is shown that both the energy and timing stability of pulses can be maintained only with synchronous amplitude modulation and bandpass filtering.
