β¦ Synopsis
An important field of application for fuzzy control is plants of which no parametrical model exists or which include important nonlinear elements. In such systems, it is difficult to describe the behavior of a fuzzy controller by analytical equations. As a result, it is hard to deal with the stability of a closed-loop system containing a fuzzy controller. As a possibility to solve this problem, we introduce a numerical algorithm that does not need analytical descriptions of the plant or of the controller. The algorithm computes the trajectories in a discretized state space to examine stability in the Lyapunov sense.
