✦ Synopsis


Almtraet-We outline here a numerical technique for ovulating the pro~b~ity density fiction @dl) of the solution to the random Paris-Erdogan equation, which describes the random growth of fatigue cracks. The technique is best suited to the case in which the Paris-Erdogan equation contains no stochastic component, with the parameters appearing in the equation being random constanta. When used in conjunction with data fits to the so-called Virkler data set, the technique yields results which are in excellent agreement with experimental data for longer crack lengths.
