β¦ Synopsis
This paper focuses on the numerical modelling aspects of cyclic loading on reinforced unbound pavements under plane-strain condition. The eect of reinforcing elements on the displacement and stress quantities, their implications for some design assumptions, and the adequacy of the bar and solid elements for reinforcement representation are also investigated. The nonlinear behaviour of pavement materials under cyclic loading is accounted for, and results are given for: axial forces in the reinforcement; shear stresses within the aggregate and subgrade layers; and the wheel-load/displacement response.

This paper proposes a constitutive model for predicting the response of reinforced concrete. Of specific interest is the realistic modeling of the hysteretic behavior of concrete under quasi-statically reversed cyclic loading. The significant cyclic features of concrete are described in the model us
