β¦ Synopsis
This paper gives an overview of numerical and experimental investigations performed in the framework of laminar flow control studies. After a description of the transition mechanisms that are likely to occur on swept wings, different techniques to delay the onset of laminar -turbulent transition are presented. Application of these techniques is illustrated by numerical results, wind tunnel experiments and free flight tests performed on Falcon 50 and Falcon 900 aircraft.
