✦ Synopsis

The psaA and psaB genes of a thermophilic cyanobacterium for the Photosystem-I core proteins (PSI-A and PSI-B, respectively) were isolated and their nucleotide sequences were determined. A genomic DNA library of Synechococcus vulcanus which had been cloned into a 2-dash cloning vector [1] were screened with the 32p-labeled 2.2 kb Barn HI fragment of the tobacco chloroplast DNA that contained the psaA/psaB region [2]. The 5685 bp Xba I fragment and the 412 bp Sma I-Cla I fragment which

Several cDNA clones encoding the complete subunit II and III precursor polypeptides of the photosystem I reaction center were isolated from two spinach lambda gt1 1 expression libraries by immunoscreening and homologous hybridization. The identity of the recombinant cDNAs was verified by an N-termin
