✦ Synopsis

Tn5405 is a 12 kb staphylococcal composite transposon delimited by two inverted copies of the insertion sequence IS1 182. This transposon carries two aminoglycosides resistance genes, aphA-3 and aadE, an altered gene similar to sat4 from Campylobacter coli BElG4, and three open reading frames of unknown functions.
