โฆ Synopsis
The dynamics of the supercooled normal domain in a type-I superconductor is considered. The linear theory of dynamic instability is developed, showing that in weak magnetic fields this state is absolutely unstable while in the field range H -H -H it is metastable and a finite size critical nucleus is necessary for a phase transition to occur. The development c2 cm of the instability in zero field is studied numerically. It has been found that the metastable mixed state consisting of Abrikosov vortices and antivortices is established as a result of the explosive nucleation of superconductivity.
