This paper deals with homogeneous and heterogeneous primary nucleation and the atomistic model of heterogeneous primary and secondary nucleation. Three aspects of crystal growth mechanisms will be taken into account: growth by two-dimensional nucleation, the so-called birth and spread model, spiral
