✦ Synopsis

An extension of the Closs-Kaptein-Oosterhoff theory concerning nudeor spin polarization resulting during free radical reactions is presented. This extension is based on the Merrifield ma&l for the magnetic field dependence of triplet-triplet annihilation.

A recently derived coupled-cluster doubles polarization propagator approximation (CCDPPA) for excitation energies and transition moments is extended to the calculation of nuclear spin-spin coupling constants. As expected, in cases where the perturbation is small (e.g. C2H2) the difference between re

Time-resolved (TR) ESR was employed to investigate the reaction of diphenylphosphinoyl reactive free radicals with N-phenyltert-butylnitrone (PBN), which were produced by laser flash photolysis (YAG laser, 355 nm) of diphenyl-2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl phosphine oxide (DPO). The TR ESR and continuous wa
