✦ Synopsis
Abstract
The temperature dependences of the ^35^Cl nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) frequencies of 4‐chloro‐3‐methyl‐, 2‐chloro‐5‐methyl‐ and 4‐chloro‐2‐methyl‐phenol were studied in the temperature range from 77 K up to the respective melting points. 4‐Chloro‐2‐methylphenol undergoes a phase transition at ca 185 K, and the presence of trans–cis isomeric forms is inferred. The NQR frequencies of molecules at absolute zero temperature were evaluated.
