New experimental NMR work on '%HaF dissolved in various nernatic phases is reported. These as wcU irs prekious results cannot be interpreted solely as the effect of J anisotropy, molecular vibrations or solverit dependence of J. The results demonstrate that CHaF is rapidly exchanging between at least two sites which have s@htly dilfercnt geometries and orientation parameters of opposite sign.
