The juxtaglomerular apparatus, a neuroendocrine unit located in the vascular pole of the glomerulus and influencing blood pressure by the secretion of renin, is known to have a rich supply of monoaminergic nerve fibres. Neuropeptide Tyrosine (NPY), a newly discovered, potent, vasoconstrictor peptide
