Heteropoly acid (HPA) catalysts supported on KIT-1 mesoporous material were prepared with different loadings and characterized using XRD, UV-VIS and N 2 adsorption. Supported HPA was dispersed mainly on the inner surface of pores, resulting in the disappearance of XRD peaks. The diffraction peaks of
## Abstract Heteropoly acids (HPA), such as tungstophosphoric acid (H~3~PW~12~O~40~ Β· __x__H~2~O) (HPW), molybdophosphoric acid (H~3~PMo~12~O~40~ Β· __x__H~2~O) (HPMo) and tungstosilicic acid (H~4~SiW~12~O~40~ Β· __x__H~2~O) (HSiW) were supported on mesoporous silica such as MCMβ41, FSMβ16 and SBAβ15
Liquid phase benzoylation of activated as well as deactivated aromatics was carried out using silica gel supported FeCI 3 and benzotrichloride as a benzoylating agent. The catalyst was prepared by co-grinding FeCI 3 with silica gel in an agate mortar. The catalyst has a good shelf life of at least t
