✦ Synopsis


A no¨el split-step FFT᎐BPM is presented for modeling three-dimensional bends in integrated optic de¨ices. The method is implemented on a unique path-based 3-D grid inspired by 2-D conformal mapping techniques. Impro¨ements in accuracy for the calculation of losses of cur¨ed wa¨eguides ha¨e been shown o¨er pre¨iously reported index modification methods.
