. was greater than the lossless simulation 3.5 versus 3.01 dB . This difference is mostly due to the lossy dielectric material used, and we did not add any losses into the simulation.
CONCLUSION
The basic Wilkinson power divider and three broadband versions of the Wilkinson power divider that have a Butterworth response were compared. Theory and measurement were in reasonably good agreement for the broadband power divider that was constructed in microstrip. All of the broadband power dividers occupy approximately the same area when constructed in a microstrip format. From the performance characteristics given, one is able to choose which version best fits a particular application.
