โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
Derivatives of thieno[2,3โb]pyridine, 2โthienylthiourea, 2โthienylurea, 2โthienylacetamide incorporating the 2โphthalimidomethyl moiety have been synthesized. The synthesized compounds were then investigated for antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus. The compounds were also investigated for antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger and Fusarium oxysporium. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds have been established on the basis of their analytical and spectral data.
