Treatment of 2-methyleneaziridines with chloroformates (MeO2CCI, PhCH202CCI) or acid chlorides (AcC1, p-NO2C6H4COCI) at room temperature in a variety of uonpolar solvents (CH2C12, THF, toluene) produces ring opened enamine products in moderate to good yields.
