✦ Synopsis

The complexation between and N-H-3-acetyl-4hydroxy quinolin-2-one (NHQuin) with MgCl 2 , ZnCl 2 and BaCl 2 has been accomplished. The structure of the resulting complexes 1 -5 has been elucidated through elemental analyses, FT-IR and 1 H / 1 3 C NMR Spectroscopy and Mass Spectrometry. The spectroscopic data show complexes of the general formula Mg 2 (OH)L 3 (H 2 O) z and ML 2 (H 2 O) z where: M = Zn(II) and Ba(II), L = NMeQuin, NHQuin and z = 2, 4.
