✦ Synopsis

Four phenoxy-and two thiophenoxy substituted poly(para-phenylenevinylene)s (PPVs) were prepared via dehydrobromination polycondensation of bis(bromomethyl)benzenes with potassium tert-butoxide. Up to 97% of the resulting PPVs are soluble in common organic solvents and can be processed to high quality thin films by solution casting or spincoating.
