Abstract
A novel broadband dualβpolarized crossβpair dipole antenna is presented in this article. Two pairs of a folded dipole antenna are used as Β±45Β° polarization element, respectively. With such a cross pair of folded dipoles, a polarization diversity antenna is constructed. A prototype antenna has been fabricated and tested. Results of simulation and measurement agree well and show the antenna exhibits encouraging properties, e.g., 10βdB impedance bandwidth of 87.3% from 800 to 2040 MHz, which is much wider than that of conventional crossβpair antennas, as well as a halfβpower beamwidth within 65 Β± 5Β° in the horizontal plane. This paper presents the design and results of a novel broadband dual-polarized circular patch antenna. The antenna is fed by microstrip lines through proximity coupling, and H-shaped slots are cut in the ground plane below the feed lines for enhancing the coupling between the patch and the feed line
