Notin, Knaus Tabbert offer EFOY option in motor homes, Rapido extends standard fitting
T wo more motor home manufactur- ers are now offering their vehicles with the option of EFOY direct methanol fuel cell onboard power supplies from German-based SFC Energy. Notin in France and Knaus Tabbert GmbH in Germany join a growing list of recreational vehicle builders in Europe that have selected EFOY fuel cells to provide an independent and environmentally friendly power supply. In addition, French-based Rapido SAS now offers EFOY fuel cells as standard its new Series 10 vehicles.
Notin's Privilège and Prestige luxury models can now be equipped with preinstalled electrical wiring ex-factory for easy installation of EFOY fuel cells. Both Notin and SFC displayed EFOY fuel cells at the recent Salon des Véhicules de Loisirs motor homes show in Paris.
Knaus Tabbert, one of Europe's leading manufacturers of caravans and motor homes, announced its 'Green Caravanning' sales partnership with SFC Energy at the recent Caravan Salon 2010 show in Düsseldorf, Germany. Knaus Tabbert now offers the option of integrating the EFOY 900 or 1200 fuel cells in all its models.
Meanwhile, Rapido SAS is relying on the EFOY fuel cell to supply energy for its new Series 10 vehicles, with the fuel cell units fitted as standard in its factory. Rapido has been offering EFOY fuel cells as standard equipment in certain vehicles since 2008 [FCB, August 2008] -one of the first EFOY customers to do so -and sees this latest announcement for its new top models as a further milestone in its successful collaboration with SFC Energy.
SFC Energy is a market leader in fuel cell technologies for mobile and off-grid power applications serving the leisure, industrial, and defense markets. Its EFOY fuel cells offer charging capacities up to 2200 Wh per day, and fuel cartridges are on sale at more than 1500 sales points throughout Europe.
