✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Statistical copolymers of styrene and acrylonitrile, covering a wide range of compositions, were synthetized by emulsion polymerization conducted to both low and high conversion. The weight‐average molecular weights of the copolymers were determined by light scattering and correlated with intrinsic viscosities measured in methyl ethyl ketone and/or dimethyl formamide solutions. The copolymers polymerized in emulsion are suggested to consist of macromolecules with long chain branching.
