Professor Seeliger's note in A. N. 3295, criticizing certain conclusions which I have drawn from spectroscopic observations of the rings of Saturn, induces me to add a further note on the same subject. Somewhat similar objections have been raised by M. Deslandres (Comptes Rendus, vol. 1 2 0 , p. I I S ~) , to which I have replied, in nearly the same manner as below, in the August number of the Astrophysical Journal.
