✦ Synopsis

The n-electron Hilbeert space is pnrtitioned into three ports by means of the projection operators P, Q, R such that P is associated with the known zeroth order wavefunction @, Q with the subspace of iunctions that are singly or doubly substituted wirh respacr to Q and R with the rest. The perturbntion expnnsion based on this partition has some advantages compared with conventiomd expansions and is helpful for an analysis of correlatian CffCC_& in rl-&CtrOn SyStCmS.

In this paper, we present a normwise perturbation theory for the regular generalized eigenproblem Ax = Ξ»Bx, when Ξ» is a semi-simple and finite eigenvalue, which departs from the classical analysis with the chordal norm [9]. A backward error and a condition number are derived for a choice of flexible

In the introductory section, we compare the total, kinetic, nuclear᎐electron, Coulomb, exchange, and correlation energies of ground-state atoms. Ž . From the analyses of the data, one can conclude that the Hartree᎐Fock HF model is notably good and might require only a small perturbation to become e
