โฆ Synopsis
In the use of systematic sampling in surveys i t is known that the effect of negative correlations (=e& between deviation8 from stratum means of p a k of i t e m in the same systematic sample is such that the reeulting variance V(#,,) can be zero for systematic sample m e a d (e.g., Corn-BAN, 1977, oh. 8). For such populations syetematic sampling is then superior both to stratified sampling (one unit per stratum) and to simple random sampling.
Cochran (be. cit.) doea not identify special typea of finite populations for which e-#=l/(n -I) and hence V(g,) =O. It ie the purpose of this paper to present one type of population for which this condition is satiefied.
