Co.'s principal bank subsidiary, North Fork Bank, operated 355 retail bank branches in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Co. also operates a nationwide mortgage business, GreenPoint Mortgage Funding Inc., headquartered in Novato, CA. Through non‐bank subsidiaries, Co. offers financial products and services including asset management, securities brokerage, and the sale of alternative investment products. Co. also operates a second subsidiary bank, Superior Savings of New England, N.A., that is focused on telephonic and media‐based generation of deposits principally in the Northeast U.S.
