✦ Synopsis

The Survey of Reading Attitudes was administered to a sample of 90 remedial readers enrolled in seven different inner-city elementary schools in a large Midwestern city. The Survey items were read aloud by the examiner while the students followed along reading the 92 attitudinal statements silently from their booklet. Means, standard deviations, standard errors of measurement, and coefficient alpha reliability estimates were determined for the eight dimensions of reading attitudes measured by the Survey.
