Recent measurements of critical densities at zero applied magnetic field, Ic, as a function of temperature, and the electrical resistivity, p, in polycrystalline YBa2Cu307-5 have shown a close relationship between the normal state resistivity and Ic. More precisely, Ic is found to be inversely propo
