β¦ Synopsis
The properties of gas-fluidized beds containing various packings such as spheres, saddles, and screen cylinders have been examined. Measurements have been made of pressure drop, minimum fluidization velocity, and bed expansion for a range of particle-packing combinations. Preliminary measurements of heat transfer rates in fluidized-packed beds have also been made.

## Abstract A threeβdimensional CFD model has been developed to predict liquid phase velocities in bubble columns. An agreement was observed between the predicted and the experimental data available in the published literature. The validated CFD model has been extended for the simulation of macroβm
