β¦ Synopsis
The asymptotic accuracy of the Glauber multiple scattering formula is examined in the fixed scatterer approximation in one dimension. If the potentials overlap, the off-shell corrections that dominate are asymptotically of the same order as the corrections to the eikonal approximation results. In the case of nonoverlapping potentials, the corrections to the Glauber formula arise from multiple scattering. The asymptotic behavior of these latter corrections depends essentially on the smoothness of the potentials. Absorption and Defocusing of Electromagnetic Radiation by a Schwarzschild

We extend and apply the doorway state approach in the context of optical potential scattering. This entails construction of doorway basis states for resolving the transition operator. We focus on analytic solutions to comparatively simple problems in optical potential scattering. Both low and high e
A method based upon elementary quantum mechanics for constructing a path integral representation or spin amplitudes is described. A path integral representation obtained earlier for the unitary rotation matrices is rederived. In this system, the appropriate set of classical canonical variables and t
