Abstract

A phenomenon called nonrepetition of differential phase shift in several latching ferrite phase shifters has been investigated. The relationship between the remanent magnetic strength (4ฯ€M~r~) and the bias magnetic field (H~0~) has been studied. It has been revealed that the slope of the initial section of the curve (4ฯ€M~r~ โˆผ H~0~) severely affects the repetition of the differential phase shift. In addition, a physical explanation is given and measurements used to solve the problem have been presented. ยฉ 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
