โฆ Synopsis
A nonplanar molecule that forms stable ion radical salts is reported, demonstrating that planar molecules are not a prerequisite for the preparation of organic conductors. The results of cyclic voltammetry and Xโray structural analysis are presented for stable single crystals of the cation radical salt of the dibenzo derivative of 4,9โbis(1,3,โdithioโ2โylidene)โ4,9โdihydronaphtho[2,3โc][1,2,5]thiadiazole. This is the first stable cation radical salt to have been succesfully obtained from a nonplanar molecule.
