This volume constitutes the proceedings of the Workshop "Nonlinear Physics Theory and Experiment. IF held in Gallipoli (Lecce, Italy) from June 27 to July 6, 2002. The purpose of the Workshop was to bring together qualified scientists and young researchers who study nonlinear physics, mathematics or science. A goal of the meeting was to offer researchers the opportunity to discuss recent developments and achievements, as well as to discuss future perspectives in the compelling and fascinating natural environment of Southern Italy.
